Freight Transport in Kamloops

Need something hauled that won't fit in a pickup? I move freight around Kamloops and across BC on my flat deck tow truck: building materials to a job site, a shed to a new property, a machine to the next project, supplies to a business. What kind of freight do you haul?

Most freight calls fall into a few groups. If yours doesn't, call anyway. A lot of what I haul doesn't fit neatly on a list.

• Building materials. Lumber, plywood, roofing, and other supplies headed to a job site, a renovation, or a build out of town.
• Sheds and small structures. Garden sheds and prefab buildings moving to a new property. I once hauled a shed built from recycled bottles across Kamloops to Barnhartvale, so unusual is fine. Tiny homes have their own page.
• Equipment. Smaller machines and job site equipment on the deck. If it's already on its own trailer, I can haul the trailer instead.
• Containers. C-cans and sea cans are a regular job. More on container transport.
• Business freight. Supplies and goods going to or from your business, around town or across the province.

How does a freight haul work?

• Tell me about the load. What it is, roughly how big and heavy it is, and where it's being picked up and dropped off.
• Sort out loading at both ends. Plenty of loads can be winched or driven onto my tilt deck. Bundled or palletized material needs a forklift or loader, so let me know what's on site at each end.
• I secure it. Everything gets chained or strapped down with tensioners, and I check every tie-down before the truck moves. It's the same care I put into hauling containers on the deck.
• You'll hear from me. I keep you updated on the way, and we sort out the drop-off together.

Where do you deliver freight?

Anywhere in BC. I'm based in Kamloops, so deliveries around town and out to places like Barnhartvale, Sun Peaks, and Merritt are everyday work. Farther out, I run the Coquihalla and the Yellowhead every week and the Trans-Canada in both directions, and I'm down to the Lower Mainland and up through the Interior regularly. Give me the pickup and the destination and I'll work out the route.

Who will I be dealing with?

Me. Phil's Towing is a family-owned Kamloops business that's been on the road since 2010, and when you call, you're talking to the person who's going to load your freight, drive it, and hand it off at the other end. No dispatcher, no call centre, and no message getting lost between three people.

Are you licensed to haul freight?

Yes. I'm licensed to transport freight, which covers loads like building materials. It doesn't cover household goods, so for a house move you'll want a moving company.

How big a load can you take?

Call me with what you've got. Size, weight, and how it's packaged all make a difference, and I'll tell you straight whether it's a fit for my truck.

Can you pick up from a supplier and deliver to my site?

Yes. Give me the supplier, the site, and a contact at each end, and let me know who's handling loading and unloading.

How much does freight hauling cost?

It depends on the load and the distance. Call me and I'll give you a straight price before anything moves, with no surprises added on later.

When can I reach you?

I answer my own phone 7 days a week, 6 AM to 8:30 PM.
